Jamune is Coming 🔥🎉

Starting Monday, I’ll be taking part in Jamune — a month-long creative challenge built around making and sharing something new every day throughout June 2026.
I’ve already been quietly posting in the run-up across various places, but I thought it might be useful to say a little more about what I’m actually doing — and perhaps why.
On one level, Jamune is simple: each day begins with a shared prompt or starting point. Everyone interprets it in their own way and makes something from it.
But I’m increasingly interested in what happens when creative practice becomes sustained, playful, and slightly unpredictable.
Over the years, I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about learning, identity, experimentation, and what happens when we move beyond certainty and established expertise. Creativity can be a strange teacher. Sometimes you begin with an idea. Sometimes the process itself begins to think.
For me, this month will likely involve an unusual mixture of sound, video, AI tools, glitchy aesthetics, odd juxtapositions, and the continuing evolution of ASMayR — a slightly difficult-to-explain project that sits somewhere between ASMR, experimental media, and whatever else seems to emerge along the way.
One thing I particularly enjoy about Jamune is that the prompts for the whole month are available in advance. That means, if you’re curious, you can see the starting point for each day ahead of time and perhaps make a game of guessing where things might end up.
Sometimes the route from prompt to final piece is obvious.
Often, it really isn’t.
I’m curious what a month of consistent making reveals — about creativity, attention, process, constraint, and perhaps something about learner identity too. What happens when you keep showing up each day, even without knowing exactly what will emerge?
At the very least, June may (well) get a little unusuaL ...
